About the Author
Hartmut Fischer studied natural sciences in the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacology at the Julius Maximilian University of W�rzburg/Bavaria, Germany. He then spent a number of years as a research scientist for major pharmaceutical companies. He worked on a German Research Foundation project, developing chiral syntheses, at the Institute for Organic Chemistry at the University of W�rzburg, and spent a number of years working on development and application methods in water preparation. At one point he felt compelled to follow a calling to become an alternative health practitioner. Along the way he also volunteered for the emergency medical service in the adult education department of the Bavarian Red Cross, and he trained as a hospice carer in Fulda. His patients benefit enormously from his wealth of knowledge and experience, and he passes on his expertise by teaching on training courses for prospective alternative health practitioners and courses on DMSO and MMS use.

Here is an excerpt from another article to give you an idea. "DMSO is an intermediate product of the global Sulfur Cycle which distributes bioavailable sulfur for all animal and plant life (Parcell, 2002). Sulfur compounds are found in all body cells and are indispensable for life, they are needed for a number of chemical reactions involved in the detoxification of drugs and other harmful toxins, and they have potential clinical applications in the treatment of a number of conditions such as depression, fibromyalgia, arthritis, interstitial cystitis, athletic injuries, congestive heart failure, diabetes, cancer, and AIDS (Parcell, 2002). Among the sulfur compounds, DMSO is probably the one that has the widest range and greatest number of therapeutic applications ever shown for any other single chemical. It has around 40 pharmacological properties that may be beneficial in the prevention, relief or reversal of numerous diseases (Morton, 1993)." [...] This article scratches the surface while this book takes you in depth and up to date. Please note that reads "40 pharmacological PROPERTIES" meaning that each property would have multiple applications . . . and that is is just what we know so far. It's usefulness is truly phenomenal.
This book does an excellent job of covering current understanding (Published December 17, 2015) of this organic solvent's ubiquitous uses. It opens with sections on the Physical, Chemical and Pharmacological properties to lay a foundation of understanding of how and why it works the way it does. Then the book covers various therapies used by doctors, holistic practitioners and the like. Some of these techniques should only be used by qualified Doctors (Intravenous techniques for example) while most others are simple and easy to use for the layperson. There are about 100 pages devoted to various ailments that have responded to DMSO therapy. Also sections on DMSO for animals, supply sources, dosing overview.
Also on Amazon there is an excellent product of 1 gallon of 99.995% DMSO for around $37. It is so pure it lessens the garlic taste when you apply it in my experience.

The best, most scientific reference book on DMSO I've found.

This is arguably the most complete and scientifically rich book on DMSO I've ever seen. It references the best refereed studies and doesn't fall into the "warm and fuzzy, drum circle" kind of anecdotal recommendations you often find in DMSO literature. Aside from research white papers, I consider it the closest thing to the "encyclopedia of DMSO" that Dr. Jacob had planned to compile.
